The last ten minutes of the school day seemed to drag by. The whole day had been like that. Every class felt like it lasted ten years. Nancy’s mind had been on just about everything else but her classes. She wasn’t sure why. Maybe she was so used to there being something else to do, something else to think about, that now it felt strange to just be at school. She felt antsy, bored. When the bell rang, announcing the end of the day, Nancy couldn’t scramble out of the classroom fast enough. She gathered her books and filed out with everyone else. She walked down the hall with quick, rhythmic steps. She smiled politely at people who greeted her, made just enough conversation not to be rude. She didn’t know why she was in such a hurry. She just wanted to get out of this boring day and find out if she’d missed anything. Had anything strange happened? Was there anything to look into? There had to be something. There was always something. Nancy stopped at her locker and carefully entered the combination into the dial of the lock. Vanessa Harrington

Tessa had never been as concerned as she is now when she hadn't seen her brother all day long. He was always lurking around somewhere and he even would come to mess with her throughout the day but when he never showed and not once did she see him in class, she was worried. She tapped her fingers on the desk staring at the clock waiting impatiently for the bell to ring allowing them to leave there last class. Once the bell had rung she was one of the first couple people out. She ran through hall dodging the teachers in case they stopped her. She stopped at her locker and threw the things she didn't need inside while grabbing her things to leave. As she was shutting her locker she realized that maybe some help wouldn't hurt and the only person she knew who cared about Steve in any way was his ex, Nany Wheeler. Tessa may have liked her in the beginning but now she couldn't stand the girl. Seeing as she needed all the help she could get, she pushed past the dislike for the girl. She turned around in the hallway looking for the girl before spotting her at her own locker. Taking a deep breath Tessa walked over to the girl and lightly tapped her shoulder "um...Nancy could I talked to you for a moment?" she asked her "I may need your help with something." she finished. Metal clanged as Nancy tugged open her locker and piled her books onto a shelf. She checked her reflection in the small magnetized mirror on her locker door, running her fingers through her hair. It had lost a bit of its volume, but it still looked fine. She was reaching for a notebook when she heard a female voice beside her. Nancy turned her head, her eyes widening in surprise when she saw Tessa Harrington asking for her help. Nancy blinked at her in slight disbelief. When she and Steve had started dating Nancy had liked Tessa well enough. But, since their breakup, Tessa didn't seem too fond of Nancy anymore. Not that she could be blamed for that. And she wasn't the only one. "You... what?" she stammered. "Oh. Um... Yeah. Sure."The surprise was evident in Nancy's voice. She retrieved a few books and shut her locker, turning to Tessa. What could she possibly need Nancy's help with? Nancy who had broken her brother's heart? Vanessa Harrington
