There was a stony sort of silence in the car. Eleven refused to look at Hopper as he drove them. She was angry with him. He was angry with her. Everyone was just mad. And miserable. It wasn't fair. Her rage still simmered softly under the surface. It made her feel hot, and uncomfortable, like she wanted to scream but she'd been warned that if she broke the windows of the truck then she was going to be in so much trouble she couldn't possibly imagine it.
Eleven hadn't been able to imagine how much trouble she was in now so the threat was effective in stopping her tantrum. But the rage had been replaced with a sort of fear Hopper had never elicited before. He was so like Papa and right now she hated him. Something cold curled deep in her gut and heated her face as tears pricked against her eyelids.
She kept her face turned away from him so he couldn't see her tears. Instead she studied the darkness outside the window. It was getting dark later and later now, but Hopper would probably still come home after dark even when it became warm again. He'd come to the cabin early today, after she'd been left all alone with no television, no radio, no Eggos, and a sharp order not to leave under threat of punishment that morning.
The kid didn't want to admit how happy she was to see him after a day of being lonely and going stir-crazy. Then he'd said he was leaving until the next night. She'd gone from happy to see him but pretending not to be to being furious enough to raze the house in the next instant. Leaving her alone hadn't been an option. So she'd been bundled into the truck and dragged off to wherever. Hopper had made a phone call before they left, but she didn't know to who.
When the car pulled into a drive that led to the biggest house Eleven had ever seen the girl wasn't sure what to think. She stared out the window, large brown eyes wide with a curiosity that smothered some of her anger, and wondered who lived here. Because, obviously, it wasn't any of her friends.
She was in trouble. She was grounded. That meant she wasn't allowed to see any of her friends until the punishment was over. Which meant that she was being shoved into the care of someone who wasn't Mrs. Byers or Mrs. Wheeler. She just didn't know who until she followed Hopper out into the cold and the man pounded on the door with a shout of:
"HARRINGTON!" Note: Hope you don't mind me NPCing Hopper for a short bit.

"HARRINGTON!"
More pounding. Hopper seemed to want to break down the door. He probably could if he tried hard enough. She wasn't about to open it for him, and he wasn't asking. Instead, she focused on what he was shouting. That name was familiar. Dustin had shouted it before at Steve in roughly the same tone as Hopper. It was, apparently, the sort of name meant to be shouted.
Eleven moved a few paces back as though trying to vanish into the shrubs by the front door when a voice shouted back. Steve wasn't here. She wondered who was. She wondered what Hopper would do when he realized the baby sitter he'd initially intended to pawn her off on wasn't here.
"I'm not talking to you through a door," the Sheriff groused, but his voice was slightly softer now that he realized it wasn't a teenage boy he was yelling at. "Open it," he demanded impatiently with the authoritative voice of a police officer.
While the door opened, the man's gaze snapped to the younger girl trying to hide in the bushes. He reached forward and grabbed her by one of her overall straps to coax her out of the shadows.
"I need you to watch Jane," he told Tessa, skipping the preamble. "When I talked to your brother on the phone earlier he said he'd be here," the grumpy man relayed in a tone that promised Steve wouldn't enjoy the next time Hopper spotted him. "But you'll do. She's grounded: no tv, radio, friends, or Eggos," he pushed Eleven closer to Tessa and then dumped her bag in the doorway. "I'll be back tomorrow night." He pulled out a small wad of cash and shoved it at Tessa. "Here's some cash for food."
And that was it.
Eleven stared up at Tessa terrified, her brown eyes wide, as Hopper stomped off to his car. He was leaving her alone! With a stranger! Some tiny part of her hoped that this was just to teach her a lesson, and that he wasn't actually following through on it. When the truck engine started from the driveway tears pricked at the girl's brown eyes.
She pulled away from the other girl and raced back towards the truck. He was already pulling out and onto the street. Eleven watched him drive away, tears streaming down her face, and shook her head in absent disbelief. When she couldn't see the truck anymore El turned desperately back towards Tessa as if the older girl might have the answers. Note: It's fine~ let me know if this moved too fast, but I wanted to get rid of Hopper xD

Tessa rolled her eyes as she heard the sheriff tell her he wasn't talking to her through the door. She unfolded her arms when she heard his voice become less rude and slowly opens the front door. She comes face to face with Hopper and a young girl didn't quite recognize. "Are you serious?" she growls and once again her arms were crossed and scowl present on her face. She couldn't believe she was being stuck with this young girl all night and most of tomorrow. The next time she saw her brother, she was going to give him a piece of her mind whether he liked it or not. She hardly listened to what the man said but just took the money and nodded her head with a blank look on her face. She watches as Hopper walked back to his truck. She looked at the girl who then pulled away from her and ran toward the truck. She kind of felt bad but she hardly knew the girl. She put the money in her pocket as she leaned against the door frame waiting for the girl to come back. Once the girl looked over at her she shrugged her shoulders "don't ask me why your here because i'm just as clueless as you" she told her with a sigh as she shook her head. TAG: ElevenNOTE: I hope you're still around and want to continue. I took a break from roleplay for awhile.
